Texas Orthopedics is so excited that high school football is here! We’re committed to the Central Texas community by having 11 of our orthopedic specialists on the sidelines at various area high schools.
That’s good news because the CDC says high school athletes account for an estimated 2 million injuries, 500,000 doctor visits and 30,000 hospitalizations each year.
We want to do our part to help lower these numbers, so you’ll see the following physicians on the sidelines providing orthopedic care to injured football players and volunteering their time to ensure the entire team is taken care of at each home game:
McNeil – Zach Logan, MD
Cedar Park – JP Rodriguez, MD
Bowie – Brannan Smoot, MD / John McDonald, MD
Austin – Randall Schultz, MD
Westwood – Scott Smith, MD
McCallum – Michael Loeb, MD
Hays HS – Ryan Tibbetts, MD
Lehman-Ryan Tibbetts, MD
Regents – Greg Westmoreland, MD
St. Andrew’s – Earl Kilbride, MD / Benjamin McArthur, MD
St. Michael’s – Earl Kilbride, MD
The most common football injuries we see and treat at Texas Orthopedics include ACL tears, fractures, meniscus tears, ankle sprains, rotator cuff tears, tendonitis, dislocations and Achilles tendonitis.
If your player gets injured during the Friday Night Lights, we’ve got you covered. We offer after hours care Monday through Friday until 7p where one of our orthopedic specialists can assist you. Or you can always schedule an online appointment here.
