Dr. Kris Stockton is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle conditions. Dr. Stockton grew up in the Houston area and completed his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Texas at Austin. At UT, he excelled academically by graduating with honors while being a 4-year starter with the Longhorns football team. Following college, he joined the New Orleans Saints to pursue a NFL career. However, an untimely injury redirected his career path into medicine.
Dr. Stockton earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed both his internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. This was followed by his fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at Baylor Medical Center, Dallas. During his fellowship, he gained expertise in the treatment of the entire foot and ankle, including:
- Forefoot reconstruction
- Foot and ankle trauma
- Ankle arthroscopy
- Complex post-traumatic and degenerative arthritis
- Congenital and neurological deformities
- Pediatric flatfoot
- Acute and degenerative tendon pathology
- Sports injuries in athletes

Dr. Stockton is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society. Along with his busy practice, he is an active member of the teaching faculty of Dell Medical School’s Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at the University of Texas. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, working out, fishing, and carpentry.
Dr. Stockton was voted by his peers to the Texas Monthly Super Doctors Rising Stars list in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and as a Texas Monthly Super Doctor in 2022 – 2024. Dr. Stockton was also recognized by his peers as an Austin Monthly Top Doctor in 2021 through 2023.
