Dr. Robert Blais attended the University of Miami School of Medicine and received his medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and a member of both the American Medical Association and Travis County Medical Association.
Dr. Blais has assisted people with serious injuries to their arms and legs for many years. This includes setting and fixing broken bones and repairing and reconstructing damaged joints. He uses arthroscopic and standard incision techniques to repair damaged joints.
In addition, he performs an innovative procedure for shoulder replacement surgery using reverse shoulder implants for patients with damaged rotator cuff muscles. He can also treat arthritic hip joints using anterior incision hip replacements, which can result in a much faster recovery for his patients. Dr. Blais has performed many endoscopic carpal tunnel releases for carpal tunnel syndrome.
