Dr. Austin Hill is native Austinite and board-certified orthopedic trauma surgeon offering skilled, efficient, and compassionate care. Fellowship-trained in the treatment of complex orthopedic trauma, including fractures and soft tissue injuries, he provides the highest level of care with optimal patient outcomes. Dr. Hill holds the academic rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas.

Utilizing the most advanced imaging and diagnostic technologies, Dr. Hill is able to diagnose orthopedic conditions with accuracy. During his comprehensive injury evaluations, he develops personalized treatment plans designed to promote a complete recovery.
Dr. Hill is the Associate Program Director of Dell Medical School’s Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program where he is working to advance the field of musculoskeletal care and training the next generation of physicians and surgeons. In addition to academic leadership and research, he also holds several area leadership positions including Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and Vice Chief of the Medical staff at Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas.
Dr. Hill has been recognized by his peers as an Austin Monthly Top Doctor in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Meet Chelsea Ballard, MPAS, PA-C
Physician Assistant for Dr. Austin Hill and Dr. David Laverty
Chelsea Ballard received her Bachelors of Business from the University of Texas before attending PA school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, graduating with her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. Chelsea went on to participate in a surgical residency at the Norwalk/Yalk Physician Assistant Surgical Residency Program. She’s practiced orthopedic trauma since 2008 and is a vital part of the Texas Orthopedics Trauma Team. Chelsea is very passionate about her line of work and explains “I love this job because I get to walk with patients as they recover from traumatic injuries and get back to the things they love doing.”
When she is not in the clinic or assisting in surgery, Chelsea enjoys running and exercising. She is married with 2 children and stays busy on the weekends watching her kids play sports.
