Dr. John McDonald won first place in the orthopedic doctor category for Austin Fit Magazine’s 2019 ‘Best of’ list. It is his fourth consecutive year being nominated.
A sports enthusiast and athlete, Dr. McDonald enjoys helping his patients get back into the game by providing them the most appropriate and skilled orthopedic care for their injury. He completed additional training to specialize in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery. In addition to his regular orthopedic practice, Dr. McDonald also helps train the next generation of orthopedic specialists as an active member of the teaching faculty of Dell Medical School’s Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. He also reviews data on behalf of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine to encourage the best orthopedic practice for his patients and patients across the U.S. During the fall, you can find Dr. McDonald on the sidelines at Bowie High School as the onsite doctor for players’ orthopedic needs.
Here’s one fun fact about Dr. McDonald — he was a competitive tennis player in college.
We are thrilled for Dr. McDonald and his physician assistant, Kathryn (Kate) DeFord on their ‘best orthopedic doctor’ win. They make a great team.
