Hand & Wrist

Robert A. Foster

Robert A. Foster, MD, is a board-certified Orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in hand surgery. Dr. Foster specializes in minimally-invasive carpal tunnel surgery, complex hand reconstruction surgery, sports injuries, upper extremity arthritis and trauma care.

  • Finger problems
  • Tendon problems

He has been voted by his peers to the Texas Monthly Super Doctors list from 2007-2020 and in 2021 – 2024 as a Legacy Member Hall of Fame Super Doctor. He was also recognized as an Austin Monthly Top Doctor in 2021 and 2022. Dr. Foster is also an active member of the teaching faculty of Dell Medical School’s Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Foster enjoys traveling, spending time with his wife, their four children, and two grandchildren, plus Longhorn sports and keeping a salt water reef aquarium.
