Todd Walker, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction and replacement. In addition, he is highly trained in general orthopedics, including the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the elbow, hip, and knee. He also specializes in orthobiologic medicine.
Dr. Walker received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University with a major in human development and family studies. He went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio, and his residency at the University of California at San Diego in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He was awarded two fellowships – his first being a research fellowship from the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine in San Diego, and his second being a shoulder reconstruction and sports medicine fellowship from the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas.
During his education, he received several awards and honors, including a full scholarship to the 2022 AANA 5th Annual Fellows and Chief Residents Course in Chicago, funding from the Discovery Fund for Orthopaedic Stem Cell Research, and the University of California San Diego Resident Consultant Award.
Dr. Walker is a member of the following organizations: American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), American Medical Association (AMA), Texas Tech Football Letterman’s Association, American Diabetes Association (ADA), and the Hawkins Foundation Alumni Society. He is also one of the Texas Orthopedic Sports Medicine providers that help cover the Texas Stars Hockey games.
Dr. Walker has been voted by his peers and recognized by Austin Monthly as a Top Doctor in 2024 and 2025.
Dr. Walker married the love of his life, oncologist Dr. Ashleigh Porter, during his residency in San Diego. He enjoys spending time with his wife, his very personable corgi mix named Lucy, and attending games at his beloved Pflugerville High School, where he was a star quarterback.

Meet Chase Hermes, PA-C
Chase Hermes is a Physician Assistant working alongside Dr. Todd Walker as part of his orthopedic care team. He earned his Bachelor of Business Management (Pre-Law) degree from Texas A&M University and completed his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at South University in Austin.
Before joining Texas Orthopedics, Chase gained valuable experience as a Patient Care Technician in the emergency room at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan, Texas. His clinical training included focused experience in orthopedics, covering diagnostic assessments and treatment planning, surgical procedures, pre- and post-operative care, X-ray evaluation, and wound closure.
Chase served as Class President of the Physician Assistant Student Society and was honored as South University’s Student of the Month for his academic excellence, professionalism, and commitment to patient care. He is also a published author, receiving citation recognition for contributions to an English comprehension textbook.
Outside of the clinic, Chase is a dedicated fitness and nutrition enthusiast. He has a lifelong passion for athletics, having participated in football, soccer, pole vault, and boxing. In his free time, he enjoys skiing during the winter months and maintaining an active lifestyle year-round.
As part of Dr. Walker’s team, Chase specializes in general orthopedics and sports medicine, with particular focus on conditions involving the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee.
